Slab & Slab Void layers

Default: 6″ (152.4 mm). Enter mm, cm, m, feet or inches. Slabs start at the wall top and extend upward by this thickness.

Create Slab / Slab Void Tags

Slab — outer slab boundary.
Slab Void — openings through the slab, for stairs, shafts or other cutouts.
Voids only cut slabs belonging to the same floor. Lines, arcs and curves must form a closed outline.

Different plan for each floor

Starts at the current wall height plus the 6″ slab (10′6″ for a 10′ wall). Increase this if your walls or slabs are taller. An individual elevation overrides this spacing.

References lock in this SketchUp model after the first successful build. Adding walls outside the outline will not move the existing floor. Pick matching base and destination points for each plan in SketchUp. Picking sets XY only; Elevation controls the floor height. Disable alignment if plans already share their correct coordinates.

Use blocks/groups named Ground Floor, First Floor, Second Floor, etc., with the normal Wall, WindowCutout, DoorCutout, KitchenWindow, VentilationWindow, Slab and Slab Void geometry inside.

Or prefix layer names: GF_Wall, GF_Slab, GF_SlabVoid, FF_Wall, FF_DoorCutout, Floor2_Wall. SketchUp tag folders with floor names are also recognized.

Layers without a floor prefix belong to Ground Floor and can be mixed with GF_ layers. AutoCAD layer filter folders alone are not floor geometry. Give their layers floor prefixes or place each floor in a named block.

Create a multistorey building

Example: 1,2,3,4 or 1-4. The source floor remains in place. Each destination receives its own walls, openings, slab and slab voids. Existing separate floor plans are not overwritten by a repeat.

This is the same spacing used in Floor Groups. Each floor is created as an independent group. Full 3D Update and Live Sync regenerate these floors from the source plans.
